Born on the 4th of July, 1976 in Dubai, UAE, Saj Habib was the eldest of four children and the only son. His father, Rashid Habib, is a retired banking mogul with Citigroup. His mother, Anisa Habib, is a highly educated stay-at-home mom who travels the world learning new cultures and languages.
Saj Habib has chosen many places around the world to live and to study including Guam, Singapore, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Greece, and Pakistan. Graduating at the top of his business high school class, he then moved to Boston Massachusetts to study for his bachelor's degree as well as his MBA at Harvard and Bentley.
Immediately thereafter, Saj Habib was nabbed by Citigroup and was groomed to follow in his father's footsteps to continue to bring honor to the long line of bankers in the Habib family. However, Saj Habib wanted to carve his own career and destiny.

"One day," Saj said, "I want to be walking down the road with my dad, but I don't want people looking at me calling me Rashid Habib's son. I want them pointing at him saying, "That's Saj Habib's father." |

After resisting the recruiting attempts from many different financial companies, Saj Habib finally decided to work with the New Century Mortgage Financial Corporation. He saw this as a way for him to step out of his father's shadow working with Citigroup and the first steps towards building his own legacy. Saj headed out the faltering company's retail mortgage operations. Within a short period of time, he was able to influence the company's earnings so much that the stock had risen from $5 a share to over $50 per share, which included multiple splits on the way up.
Five years of much hard work and loyalty to New Century Financial, Saj Habib finally decided to head out on his own to create his own financial empire. Thus began the MGM International Mortgage Corporation. | |
